The country’s major political parties including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have announced their candidates for the 24 constituencies of Gilgit Baltistan (GB) Legislative Assembly General Elections.
According to the media reports, Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Pakistan (MWM) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) have announced to contest GB general election on 15 and 10 constituencies respectively. Both the parties have also announced their candidates for the mentioned number of constituencies. The GB elections will be held on June 8.
The GB has 24 constituencies for which 495 candidates have submitted their nomination papers and Election Commission allowed 445 candidatures to take part in the election after completing the scrutiny process.
