Mian Mohammad Mansha, Chairman Nishat Group, accompanied by a working delegation from MCB visited Kabul at the invitation of the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on May 12. This meeting was to evaluate the progress on the development of talks held earlier where the expertise, efforts and commitment of Mian Mansha in various economic and development sectors in Pakistan were applauded by the Government of Afghanistan.
Ghani hoped that initiation of investment in Afghanistan by Nishat Group could turn into a symbol of economic cooperation between the two countries in the areas of banking, textile, cement and energy.
On the expansion of trade and investment between Afghanistan and Pakistan both sides urged that investment in Afghanistan can play a significant role in enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries where initiation to these would commence with the opening of MCB Branch in Afghanistan. The President of Afghanistan assured the delegation that the Government of Afghanistan will soon provide an approval to open MCB Branch in Kabul.
Mian Mohammad Mansha said “the existing opportunity in Afghanistan is an ideal occasion to cooperate in maintaining peace and stability in the region and looked forward to invest in the infrastructure, with the opening of a MCB branch as the first step.”
