ISLAMABAD:
Supreme Court suspended the election tribunal’s decision on Monday to unseat Saad Rafique (Railways Minister) over irregularities in the 2013 general election, according to local media sources.
After hearing the minister’s petition, the court suspended ET decision for four weeks and barred the election tribunal from holding a by-election in NA-125, according to reports.
The bench also issued notice to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s Hamid Khan who came second in NA-125, and later filed a petition against the election result, according to sources.
Supreme court should have refused to hear the case. This is nothing more than meddling in the election. The problem with these judges are they are confused as to what are there agendas. Do you know Mr. CJ?
There is no need to rejoice over this decision. it is the natural result of filing the Appeal. The tribunal's order has been suspended for four weeks only . There is lot of difference between Suspension and overturning the decision. till the final verdict of the Supreme Court. Let us cross our fingers and wait for the final outcome of the appeal.
Good check by SC. Tribunal's decision was very weak. Why a sitting minister to be deseated even if not guilty. Any decision should be taken after complete investgation not on political grounds.
Judicial Commission consisting of three sitting Supreme Court judges and headed by no less then the Chief Justice of Pakistan is probing 2013 General Elections. It would have been appropriate to hear this Appeal after publication of Commission's Report.
