A man threw his three children into a canal over a domestic dispute on Saturday.
According to police, Safia along with her three children had gone to her parents’ home at Rajowal village after quarrelling with her husband Haji Mumtaz some months ago.
On Saturday, Haji Mumtaz collected his son Ali Waqas (7), and daughters Maria (11) and Munazza (8) from school and took them to the Lower Bari Doab near University of Education Campus and pushed them into the canal.
Ali Waqas managed to swim out of the water and rushed to call for help in a nearby locality. Local residents retrieved Maria after hectic efforts but she could not survive the drowning. Efforts are underway to search for Munazza by the time this report was made.
What is happening to our society. Things like these were not the norm even a decade ago.
Our "roshan khiyal" media has spread Westernization to such an extent, that our own cultural ethos and values stand dangerously diluted.
…? Youre blaming the West for this? Really? Do you have nothing better to do but whine about the West all the time? It's strange, but I'm pretty sure drowning your children isn't a norm in the West. I also think they kind of have better child services than us. Fool.
