Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq on Thursday said that women were not barred from voting in the PK 95 by-election, adding that women chose not to vote in light of local traditions.
Talking to a news channel while visiting various polling stations in PK 95 constituency, Sirajul Haq said that no ban was imposed on women’s right to vote. “Every citizen has a constitutional and democratic right to vote. Arrangements had been made for women to vote but they chose not to vote,” he claimed.
