The Punjab government is utilising all available resources to facilitate the people of the province, said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif while addressing a ceremony during his visit and inspection of Gattwala Canal Expressway on Saturday.

He said that a number of uplift projects have been initiated across the province to bring development and prosperity.

He said that Gattwala Canal Expressway was a 3-lane project with length of 27 kilometres and would be completed within an estimated cost of Rs 16 billion.

He said that six flyovers and four under-passes would be constructed at Gattwala Canal Expressway and this project would be completed by December 2015.

The chief minister said that the completion of the expressway would not only promote the trade, business, industrial, import and export activities in and around Faisalabad but also create employment opportunities.

Later, he also inaugurated the construction of the Punjab Bio-energy Institute and a girls’ hostel at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF).
