Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf on Friday issued the Nizam-e-Salaat calendar for unified prayer timings in the federal capital.
Sardar Yousaf announced Nizam-e-Salaat in accordance to which, all sects including Shia, Hanfi (both Deobandi and Barelvi) and Ahle Hadis would offer prayers at the uniform timing.
Imam-e-Kaaba started the implementation while leading the Friday prayer in Faisal Mosque.
The calendar prepared for the Nizam-e-Salaat is divided into two parts for the complete solar year. The first phase will start from April 15 to October 14 according to which: Fajr Azan would be called at 4:10am while prayer will be offered throughout the capital at 4:40am. The Azan time for Zuhar prayer would be 1:15pm, while the prayer will be offered at 1:30pm. Azan would be called at 4:49pm for Asr and prayer will be offered at 4:59pm.
Maghrib Azan would be called at 6:45pm, while prayer will be offered at 6:47pm. Azan for Isha will be called at 8:15pm while the prayer will be offered at 8:40pm in uniformity in whole Islamabad.
The second phase will start from October 15 to April 14 according to which: The Azan time for Fajr prayer would be 4:49am, while the prayer will be offered at 5:19am. Zuhar Azan would be called at 1:00pm, while prayer will be offered at 1:15pm. Asr Azan would be called at 3:57pm while prayer will be offered throughout the capital at 4:07pm. Azan for Maghrib will be called at 5:41pm while prayer will be offered at 5:43pm in uniformity in whole Islamabad. Azan would be called at 7:21pm for Isha and prayer will be offered at 7:36pm.
All year, Friday Azan will be called for all sects at 12:45pm. Moreover, gradual difference of a minute or two in the prayer timings will take place in view of the changes in weather.
