The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has appointed its member Khawaja Izharul Hassan as leader of the opposition in Sindh Assembly (SA) on Wednesday and also issued a notification for removal of Shehryar Meher.
According to details, the Sindh Assembly, following the appointment of Izharul Hassan’s takeover of the office of opposition leader, has notified the removal of Shehryar Meher.
The MQM had filed a requisition in the assembly to elevate Khawaja Izharul Hassan to the slot of opposition leader.
Earlier talking to media, MQM parliamentary leader Syed Sardar Ahmed told that his party would sit on opposition benches and play the role of a constructive opposition in the Sindh Assembly. On the occasion, Hassan said the MQM had always focused on ‘opposition for the sake of bringing reforms, rather than opposition for the sake of opposition’.
He vowed to raise his voice for rights of the people, oppose any unjust move and stand by positive decisions of the government.
