Earthquake of 5.5 magnitude hits Peshawar, northern areas

A 5.5 magnitude earthquake jolted Peshawar and its adjacent areas in a series of tremors felt in Northern areas since Saturday, according to local media sources.

There were no reports of casulaties or damages.

The earthquake was also felt in Swat, Dir and parts of Malakand division, reportedly.

Pak-Afghan border near Tajikistan was epicenter of the earthquake which struck at a depth of 144 kilometres, the US Geological Survey said.

It said the tremors were measured 5.5 on the Richter Scale.
