Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid on Sunday said that the cantonment board local body elections have affirmed that General Election 2013 was fair and legitimate.

Talking to the reporters in Islamabad, Rashid said that the people in Cantt boards showed the same voting trend that was witnessed in general elections in 2013. He said claims of those who said they have majority following in Cantt boards have proven wrong, adding that people have exposed “lies of the container”.

The federal minister said that the government has forgiven Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan but he should seek forgiveness from people for attacking Parliament, presidency and PTV centre. He urged Khan to come back to container and tell who the people behind the alleged conspiracy were.

He said Pakistan has expressed its solidarity with Nepalese brothers who are suffering from the devastating earthquake. He said relief supplies including doctors, medicines and rescue teams have been sent and as a friendly country and part of international community, Pakistan would fulfil its responsibilities.
