Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif Wednesday appreciated the sacrifices of the army and law enforcement institutions for the elimination of terrorism as well as lauded the national determination for eradication of terrorism and maintenance of peace.
In a meeting held with Corps Commander Lahore Lt Gen Naveed Zaman, the chief minister reviewed the steps taken and expressed satisfaction regarding implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) in the province and it was agreed to take further consolidated measures speedily and effectively against terrorism.
The meeting also renewed the determination for the complete elimination of terrorism, extremism and sectarianism.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that steps taken under NAP in Punjab for the eradication of terrorism are yielding positive results.
“The entire nation is united against terrorism, extremism and sectarianism and the war against these menaces will be fought at every front,” he said, adding that officers and Jawans of the army, police as well as ordinary citizens have rendered supreme sacrifices in the war against terrorism and the whole nation is proud of the sacrifices of the martyrs.
He said that besides terrorists, their facilitators will also be rooted out, adding that terrorists are enemies of the country and the nation and will be completely eliminated. He said that it is the mission of every Pakistani to make Pakistan a safe and peaceful country.
