ISLAMABAD:
Police officials and administration in the capital have claimed to have a comprehensive plan on security during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s April visit to Pakistan, according to a local media source quoting a police official.
Over 1000 police officials have been deployed in the capital on designated routes, with the army providing overall security during the visit. Leave applications of officials have also been cancelled.
Last year, the Chinese president cancelled his original plan to visit Pakistan owing to anti-government demonstrations in Islamabad and elsewhere against alleged rigging in the 2013 elections. However, President Xi promised to make the trip to the country at a later date, according to sources.
