The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed the Punjab government to complete legal formalities till April 30 in terms of writing up the annual performance evaluation report with respect to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Jails Rawalpindi Range Mirza Shahid Salim Baig in connection with his promotion case.

A single bench of LHC comprising Justice Shujaat Ali Khan took up the petition filed by DIG Jails Rawalpindi Range Mirza Shahid Salim Baig for hearing Friday.

The petitioner took the plea in his petition that the former IG Jails Kokab Nadim Warraich who is currently member of Chief Minister Inspection Commission has not written his annual performance evaluation reports deliberately for the last three years while law makes it binding to write up performance evaluation report in the month of January every year. Kokab Nadim Warraich did so out of personal grudge and bias, he added.

He prayed the court to issue orders for writing up his performance evaluation reports for the last three years so that he could be promoted to the next grade.

The court ordered that performance evaluation reports in respect of the petitioner be written till April 30 and legal formalities be met.
