An alleged Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activist Muazzam Ali, who has been arrested by the security forces in Karachi on charges of involvement in Imran Farooq murder, has begun naming names.
Sources said that Ali named MQM’s former Tanzeemi committee in-charge of Karachi Hamaad Siddiqui, who reportedly briefed the hit-men about the plan to murder Imran Farooq. Ali alleged that he used to comply with the orders of Hammad Siddiqui, which mostly pertained to targeted killing and extortion collection.
Ali said he arranged visas of two culprits – Kashif and Moshin – who were tasked with murdering Farooq in London. “Hammad Siddiqui had provided both the culprits with financial assistance and asked them to complete their mission,” he alleged.
Sources said that investigation authorities have recovered important documents from Muazzam Ali and a complete probe report has been prepared in this regard. The report is currently kept by DG Rangers Sindh, they added.
Meanwhile, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has rejected any association with Muazzam Ali.
A party spokesperson said the MQM would consult its legal team over statement of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan regarding Muazzam.
