Shahbaz Sharif says ‘victory’ only option in war against terrorism
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said a decisive war is being fought against the menace of terrorism and “victory” is the only option for us in this war.
He said this while talking to members of assembly from different districts of Punjab who called on him on Thursday.
He underlined that, “The war against terrorism is war for survival of our coming generations. We are determined to return Pakistan’s peace to it, which it had lost. We have decided there is no place for terrorism and extremism on our sacred land. We will win the war at every cost, which is being fought to save the country. We will weed out terrorism once for all and transform Pakistan into an Islamic welfare state in true perspective.”
He went on to say that, extraordinary steps are being taken for extraordinary situations, which are paying encouraging dividends.
Work is underway to fast track several energy projects, he said, adding that planning has been evolved for the generation of 3,600 megawatts of electricity from gas in Punjab. The Punjab government will install project for production of 1,200 megawatts of electricity, and the federal government will contribute to the installation of 2,400 megawatts of electricity, he pointed out.
