Government Girls Primary School in Larkana is non-functional for last 23 years, as teachers and other staff were drawing monthly salaries while sitting at home.
The girl students have been rendered illiterate. The school is located in Union Council No 4, which comes under the constituency of Senior Sindh Education Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro. The school’s building has been reconstructed which needs teachers. The teachers should perform their duties and fulfil their legal obligations.
The Larkana executive district officer (EDO) has also closed her eyes despite information that the school is dysfunctional since very long and teachers are getting salaries without discharging their government duties. The boundary wall of the school has been completely damaged which has rendered it open for land grabbers.
Girl students Manzooran, Hasina, Tahira, Farhana, Shumaila, Lakhmera, Naseem and others protested before media and complained that they are very fond of getting education but no teacher is available in the school. They appealed to Sindh education minister to help open the school without loss of further time.
The residents of Jurio Chandio locality of Larkana namely Asif Chandio, Zawar Badardin Abro, Saddam, Zamir and Muhammad Ali while talking to reporters said that the foundation of this school was laid in 1992 and according to their information, four lady primary teachers were posted in the school who never arrived to impart education to their daughters due to which they have been forced to remain uneducated.
They said that their notable Haji Allah Ditto Chandio donated his personal plot for construction of the said school with the sole hope that education will bring change among the daughters of the village but his dream is yet to come true.
