Two prisoners convicted for murder were hanged in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat and Sahiwal’s central jails early on Tuesday.
Tayyab was executed at Kot Lakhpat Jail for murdering Abrar Hussain of Toba Tek Singh in 2000, while Muhammad Jaffer was executed at Sahiwal Central Jail for murdering two people in 1997.
The government had lifted its moratorium on the death penalty in all capital cases on March 10, after restarting executions for terrorism offences in the wake of Peshawar school massacre.
