CM orders CMIT to conduct probe into release of terrorist

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has directed Chief Minister Inspection Team (CMIT) to conduct an inquiry into the alleged release of an arrested terrorist by Incharge CIA Ghotki against payment of huge bribe. “This is itself terrorism if arrested members of banned organisation have been released.”

The chief minister issued this order after taking notice on the reports appeared in press.

Daharki police had arrested a terrorist of a banned organisation identified as Mohammad Saeed Rajput, resident of Okara, from Muslim Colony and recovered a dragger, hate literature and uniforms from his possession. The then SSP had also addressed a press conference to make Saeed Rajput’s arrest public. He had also disclosed that an FIR had been registered against the terrorist and appointed CIA Incharge Rana Mohammad Hanif as inquiry officer.

The inquiry was in progress when CIA Incharge Saeed Rajput allegedly in connivance with some other police officers released accused Saeed Rajput against a bribe of Rs 2 million and arrested a villager Abdul Majeed Maher from Shikarpur and turned him as a main culprit and challaned the case in the anti-terrorism court.

Qaim Shah took serious notice of the incident and asked the IG police to conduct inquiry n his own and report him. Meanwhile, the chief minister has directed the Chief Minister Inspection team (CMIT) chairman to conduct a thorough inquiry into the incident.
