The LPG marketing companies Monday refused to reduce the LPG prices.

The government LPG producers reduced the prices of LPG on Sunday after the reduction of Rs 9,400 per ton by the government. The reduction of Rs 10 per kg, Rs 115 domestic cylinder and Rs 460 commercial is actually aimed at giving relief to the poor consumers by the government. But unfortunately, this relief could reach the poor people.

LPG Distributors Association Pakistan chairman Irfan khokhar said that OGRA failed to implement the new prices. LPG marketing companies are earning unjustified profit of Rs 12.5 million per day.

Irfan khokhar said the reduction in LPG prices was just because of record import of LPG in last six months. The import of LPG finishes the monopoly of LPG mafia. Khokhar added that LPG was a cheaper fuel than LNG. The govt should cut 50 per cent GST on import then LPG will be more reduced by Rs 10 per kg.
