LAHORE:

Those behind the suicide attacks on Youhanabad churches will be brought to justice; action will also be taken against those who took the law into their hands after the attacks and created anarchy, said Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Kamran Michael on Sunday.

He was talking to reporters after attending Easter celebrations at Catholic Christ and Christ Church in Youhanabad.

“Several religious and political leaders have attended the celebrations in Youhanabad to express solidarity with the Christian community. Churches, mosques and imam bargahs have all been affected by terrorism. The terrorists did not even spare children,” he said. The minister said that people from all castes and religions had equal rights and should work together to eliminate terrorism from the country. “Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is making all efforts to increase inter-faith harmony. These efforts are bearing fruit. The government and the army are doing their best to eliminate terrorism. We should give a message to the terrorists that they, not us, are in a minority in this country,” he said.

He said that the Metro Bus Station at Youhanabad was being repaired and would be opened to the public soon.

Badshahi Masjid khateeb Maulana Abul Khair Azad also addressed the Easter congregation and said that both Christians and Muslims should join hands to eliminate terrorism from the country.
