Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted four operations at Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Attock, which resulted in recovery of 60 kg of heroin, 8.75 kg of charas and 20 grams of cocaine.
During these operations, ANF arrested six drug traffickers and seized four vehicles. The total value of recovered drugs approximately amounts to Rs 405.6 million in international market. Most of the recovered drugs were destined abroad.
According to details, ANF Rawalpindi Road Check Team, intercepted a Toyota Mark X Car No LED-989 at GT Road, IqbalShaheedTollPlaza, Attock. During search of the car, 50 kg of heroin was recovered, which was hidden in secret cavities of the car.
Two drug traffickers on board namely Hayatur Rehman, resident of Bajour, presently residing at Hayatabad, Peshawar and Dawa Jan, resident of Bajour Agency were also arrested during the operation. As per initial reports, heroin was being transported from Jamrud side and was reportedly intended to be smuggled to England after having been shifted to some unknown location.
ANF Rawalpindi Road Check Team seized a Suzuki Mehran Car Registration No BW-860 at Fateh Jhang Road, Fateh Jhang, District Attock and recovered 10 kg of heroin tactfully concealed inside the car. An accused namely Malik Sher Afzal resident of Mianwali was also arrested at the spot.
ANF Rawalpindi acted upon a tip-off and arrested a cocaine seller namely Syed Mehmood, resident of Islamabad, and recovered 20 grams of cocaine from his personal possession. The accused was arrested while travelling in a Taxi Car Registered No LHM-3864 near Kahna Pull, Islamabad.
ANF Rawalpindi conducted a raid at a place situated at Faizabad-Pirwadhai Road, Rawalpindi and recovered 8.75 kg of charas. Charas was recovered from a Suzuki Mehran Taxi Car No FDQ-1625. Taxi driver namely Muhammad Bilal, resident of Haripur was arrested from the spot. After initial investigations, source of drug supply namely Zareen Gull, resident of Khyber Agency was also arrested from nearby area.
Cases have been registered against all the detainees at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under process.
