Capital Development Authority (CDA) has suffered loss to the tune of Rs 340 million following the revocation of Parliament Lodges Phase-2 contract after 4 years.

Sources said that CDA has cancelled contract of Parliament Lodges Phase-2 after a strong notice was taken by speaker and deputy speaker of National Assembly but the revocation of contract has left CDA at receiving end, not private contractor.

Contract of Parliament Lodges Phase-2 was awarded during the tenure of former prime minister Yusuf Raza Gillani and only 20 percent of work has been completed within four years. Contractor has received advance payment against 60 percent construction work.

When contacted, the CDA spokesman said that not only responsibility will be fixed against the officers found involved in making overpayment but also recovery will be made from them and exemplary punishment will be awarded to them.
