Some justice

Our society being exposed to terrorist activities and extreme violence for well over a decade has become prone to psychologically aggressive frustration on the part of general public. As an expression of this aggression, the news of lynching on various pretexts gets surfaced at times. Sometimes it’s done in the name of immediate “justice” to the obvious criminals, at times in the name of self-assumed blasphemy allegations and at times in the shape of horrible presumption by the mob of crime and of alleged criminals.

Whatever the pretext may be, it is an act of sheer barbarism and is in utter contrast to the norms of civilised society based on valued principles of rule of law and of due process of law. In a highly appreciable step the government has started to act on death penalties for the convicted criminals in lynching incident. The death warrants of Sialkot lynching criminals are in fact writing on the wall that law exists in this land and knows how to tighten its noose around damned criminals. May such efforts bear fruit and our land be blessed with heavenly peace forever! Amen!
