Pakisan allrounder Mohammad Hafeez will undergo an official reassessment of his bowling action on April 9 in Chennai, along with Pakistan Women’s allrounder Javeria Khan. The PCB, in a release, said the date had been set by the ICC following a request by the board.

Hafeez, who was suspended from bowling in international cricket in December last year, had missed an earlier test (on February 6) due to a foot and calf injury, which had also ruled him out of the 2015 World Cup.

He was first reported while bowling for Lahore Lions in the Champions League T20 in September 2014, but that sanction did not apply to international cricket. The offspinner was reported again in November, during the first Test against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi. His action was found to be illegal in December and the ICC report said the analysis had shown that the flex for all his deliveries was above the 15-degree limit.

He also failed to clear an unofficial test of his action in December at the Sri Ramachandra University, which is also the venue for the reassessment on April 9.

Javeria, who bowls offspin, was suspended due to an illegal action in July 2010. She last bowled for Pakistan in an international game in May 2010 and has since played as a specialist batsman. A PCB release stated that Javeria had “done a decent bit of work in remodeling her bowling action with the help of experts.”
