The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday said that local bodies elections in cantonment areas would be held on party basis. It maintained that any candidate applying for an election symbol belonging to a political party will be asked to furnish party ticket.
According to ECP, the institution is ready to hold the local bodies elections in cantonments on party basis. ECP officials said that only those candidates would be allowed to contest the elections on party basis who have submitted their nomination papers.
