Sindh LG polls on party basis, says Chief Minister Shah

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that the upcoming local bodies election will be held in a fair and transparent manner on party basis.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of Maternity Hospital and Animal Husbandry Hospital near village Lal Bux Mangi of Khairpur, Sindh Qaim Ali Shah said that Sindh was ignored during past but whenever Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) came into power it spared no efforts to provide basic facilities including food, shelter, education and health to the people of the province.

He said that the two projects were completed at a cost of Rs 4.2 million and Rs 4.7 million, respectively.

The CM said that RO plant has been established in Thar, which is being providing 10lac gallons of clean drinking water while a beautiful hospital with modern equipment and treatment facilities was also established in Mithi.

He said that wheat has been provided to 1.6 million people of famine hit Thar without any discrimination.

Shah said that to improve literacy rate and quality of education, his government established medical, engineering colleges and universities within seven-year period to provide better education facilities to people of the province.

He said Sri Lanka has 97 per cent literacy rate while in our country ratio is 51 to 52 percent and four million children are not going to schools. He said 7,000 closed schools were reopened and new schools buildings were also constructed while Rs 43,000 million spent on health sector to provide facilities to people of Sindh at their doorstep.

Shah further said in the past, PPP got Rs 45,000 to Rs 50,000 million as its share in the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award and 200,000 jobs were provided to youth of province.
