CM allows new hiring in JPMC

Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has directed the health minister and chief secretary to allow Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) administration to hire lower grade staff and release development funds for the institution.

Sources at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center said the institution had been facing acute shortage of staff for over four years as no hiring has been done on vacant posts. They said the newly-appointed administration was striving hard to improve health delivery system in the JPMC with help of available manpower.

While some administrative officials of the institution have been holding meeting with the secretary to chief minister, health minister and other high-ups of the health department to get permission for hiring of at least lower grade staff for the hospital and also to ensure release of the development funds for the institution at the earliest.

The sources said that the chief minister had directed the health minister, secretary health and chief secretary to allow JPMC administration to hire lower grade staff to fill shortage and also release development funds for the hospital. They said the issue of health allowance of employees was also expected to be resolved within few days.

Focal Person and Deputy Director Admin JPMC Dr Jawaid Jamali, when contacted, confirmed that the chief minister had issued directives to high-ups of the department to allow administration to recruit of lower grade employees and release of funds for hospital. He hoped that hiring of staff would starts soon after official permission from the health department.
