Four Lyari gang-war suspects among six killed

Police claimed to have killed four suspects of Lyari gang-war in an encounter early on Saturday besides recovering grenades and grenade launchers among other weapons and ammunition from their possession.

SSP City Division Fida Hussain Janwari told media that two gang-war suspects were killed in an encounter in Lyari’s Photo Lane area while the other two were gunned down during a search operation in Kharadar immediately after the first raid.

He said that grenades, grenade launchers, two SMGs and TT Pistols were recovered from the possession of the killed suspects. SSP Janwari said the suspects belonged to Baba Ladla and Uzair Baloch groups of the Lyari gang-war and were wanted in killing of police officials among other targeted killings, extortion and kidnapping for ransom offences.

Meanwhile, at least two persons were shot dead in a firing incident near Tajuddin Baba’s shrine at Old Golimar area where unidentified gunmen opened fire.

The dead bodies were shifted to a hospital for legal formalities.

POLICE TAKE SUSPECTS TO ATC IN RICKSHAW

The city police Saturday showed another incident of negligence as they brought two criminals to the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in rickshaw for hearing. The accused were arrested in extortion cases and were taken to the court without handcuffs.
