After failing to appear in court yet another time an Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad has directed the counsel for former president Pervez Musharraf to produce medical reports of his client on April 10, 2015, in the judge’s detention case.

Expressing his resentment over the absence of counsel for Pervez Musharraf Judge Sohail Akram of ATC remarked, “Neither the counsel of former president Pervez Musharraf appears in the court nor former president is appearing in the court despite court’s orders.”

Judges detention case came up for hearing before ATC Islamabad led by Judge Sohail Akram Friday.

Ilyas Siddiqui counsel for former president did not appear in the court during preliminary hearing.

The court expressed displeasure over it and ordered that the former president appear before it within one hour.

Associate of Ilyas Siddiqui counsel for former president appeared in the court when it resumed its hearing after one-hour break and told former president cannot appear being unwell and for security reasons. He requested the court to grant exemption for one day to the former president.

Public prosecutor Nadim Ahmad Tabish while opposing this plea told the court that the lawyers of former president Pervez Musharraf are behaving with the court in an insulting manner because court has summoned former president on several occasions in the case but he did not appear. Counsel for Pervez Musharraf is using dilatory tactics repeatedly.

The court ordered counsel for Pervez Musharraf to produce medical report in respect of former president on next hearing.

The court while granting exemption to former president from attendance for one day adjourned hearing of the case until April 10.
