Pakistan should be ‘negotiator’ not ‘participant’ in Yemen conflict: Imran

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said Friday that Pakistan should be playing the role of a key negotiator in peace talks rather than becoming a participant in the Yemen war, in a series of tweets posted on his official Twitter account.

Imran said Pakistan had suffered huge losses in the past due to its involvement in other wars.

He said Pakistan was facing a huge sectarian issue, adding that the country had already suffered enough in ten years.

Saudi Arabia had said on Thursday that five Muslim countries including Egypt and Pakistan want to participate in the Gulf-led military coalition against Shia Houthi rebels in Yemen.

Saudi Arabia and four other Gulf states, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, announced earlier a decision to “answer the call of President Hadi to protect Yemen and his people from the aggression of the (Shia) Houthi militia.“

  2. One cannot mediate unless the both parties agrees to do so. Conflict in Middle East is growing day by day and the fact is that US involvement on both sides is making the situation more more complex.Pakistan cannot isolate itself from the present situation. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has long time brethren relations with Islamic Republic of Pakistan and have stood by us in all situations.

We have to and must help Saudi Arabia because if Iran succeeds then tomorrow we have to pay the price and Iran unfortunately is on the right path to unite the Muslim Ummah contrarily having it's own agenda of Shia Islam rather bridging in between these two main sects.

  3. Brothers, in my opinion Pakistan has moral obligation to defend Saudi Arabia with full force. Please note that Saudi Arabia since King Faisal's time has provided us fullest support during all hard times and saved Pakistan from collapsing against the sanctions and has contributed with finance and respect. More over they have helped us so much that we feel that the blood running in all of us has Saudi contribution and the Atom bomb, which is keeping India away from attacking us has Saudi participation. By saving Saudi Arabia from enemies we are saving Pakistan life line. I am a supporter of Imran Khan but on National issue I will fully support Pakistan Government and Army in defending the mother land of Harmain and Sharifain.

  4. We should give full support to Saudi Arabia because not only it has the places of Peace and Power but also due to the fact that they have helped us when ever we needed them and thanks to their unconditional support we are the 7th atomic nation.
