ATC extends nine MQM men’s remand

An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday extended the physical remand of nine Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) men to police till 8th of April 2015 in illegal weapons possession and explosive material cases.

Police produced Faisal alias Mota, Syed Munawwar Hussain Shah, Ubaid alias K2, Nadir Shah, Anjum Qazim, Nadeem Ahmed, Amir Ali, Shakeel Ahmed alias Mulla and Abdul Qadir before the ATC judge amid tight security.

The investigation officer requested the court to extend the physical remand of all the accused as they are required for further interrogation. The court accepted police request and extend the remand of all the accused to their custody for 14 days. The accused, Abdul Qadir, was also remanded to police custody for 14 days in a murder case of three persons. According to the prosecution, Qadir was involved in murder of two PML-F workers and police constable Chaman. The suspects were arrested on 11th of March when Rangers raided MQM headquarters, Nine Zero, and its surroundings. They are in police custody since 12th of March 2015.
