Pakistan, in spite of being a nuclear power, has limited space capabilities and has not been able to build or launch its own satellite to date. Space technology is now considered as fourth dimension of warfare and Pakistan’s dependence on space applications and information is likely to increase for exploration of mineral resources and environmental processes. However, Pakistan lags far behind many other South Asian countries, particularly India, in the space race. Pakistan’s Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission, SUPARCO, took a good start in 1961 and began to move forward but couldn’t maintain developments. Economic challenges, poor governance and serious global sanctions that SUPARCO suffered from account for diminutive progress in space research field. The only significant advancements made by SUPARCO are in development of military missiles.
In such state of affairs the only ray of hope, for us, is SUPARCO’S 2040 Space Programme, to emerge as a space faring nation.

Pakistan is not lacking in this field because there have been numerous development taken by SUPARCO with help of China. Everything comes with time and we are on our way in this arena as well because one cannot ignore and focus on just only one thing. Space technology is much more than just satellite launch capability. Pakistan’s space program is very wide-ranging and diverse.
Space exploration is amongst the most fascinating ventures of modern times. It contributes to investigation of physical conditions in space, on stars, planets, and other celestial bodies through the use of artificial satellites and space probes carried on board spacecrafts beyond the Earth’s atmosphere. The competence and capabilities in relevant areas of space science and technology for space exploration could help attain sustainable socio-economic development and improve the quality of life of the people of Pakistan. SUPARCO has tremendously done its job in making country excel in the field of space exploration, , looking back at SUPARCO's achievements which satisfaction and looking forward to a bright future, particularly if it continues to receive the government and the public’s moral and financial support. We have no doubt that we should be able to achieve all the targets of Pakistan’s Space Vision 2040
Pakistan is equally concerned about its space technology too. SUPARCO is a national space symbol of Pakistan’s initiatives in space. The country is very much well aware of the emerging threats and is equally well aware the significance of the space program. Pakistan is an underdeveloped country who has become nuclear weapon state in order to meet up its national security concerns. Similarly, Pakistan is equally aware of the priorities and compulsions in space too which are very important for security and sovereignty of space hood.
Sometimes, i feel like it is good to have a contestant in your neighbourhood. It makes you work hard in suspicion, and i think it is what keeping indian,Pakistan,China, to go ahead notwithstanding the abundant problems at home. And i also think that financing money in space technology is not a waste since the future belongs to space and any country having superiority in space will procure many deals with other countries which will also bring economic benefits to the country as well as many many jobs for the country.
Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), the national space agency is mandated to conduct R&D in space science. Pakistan no doubt is facing the economic constraint in developing its space program but as soon as Pakistan gets economic relief. Its scientists and engineers will be acknowledged in the space domain.
