Govt promises indiscriminate action against terrorists

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Pervaiz Rashid Saturday said whosoever committed crime would be treated as a criminal and punished.

Talking to the journalist after the prize distribution ceremony of a charity cricket match played between Media Eleven and Australian High Commission Eleven at Shalimar Cricket Ground, he said the government was determined to eliminate terrorists and criminal elements from the society without discrimination. He said a terrorist was a terrorist irrespective of his/her political affiliation.

The minister said a clear line had been drawn; criminals were on one side of the line while law enforcement agencies including army, political parties, media, and the people were on the other.

He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was committed to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country. The government had the support of political parties in this regard. The law enforcement agencies were carrying out indiscriminate operation against the terrorists.

Rashid thanked the Australian High Commission for playing cricket, a noble game, for a noble cause.

Responding to a question, he said the national team played excellently in its last two matches in the Cricket World Cup. He expressed the hope that the team would perform well in future games. He said the proceeds of the match between the Media Eleven and Australian High Commission Eleven would go to the victims of ArmyPublic School, Peshawar. He said the Peshawar tragedy would be remembered for long as the whole world was dejected over it.
