Arabic tutor Suleman Maknojioa repeatedly rubbed his student’s leg and touched her chest, according to The Telegraph. The Islamic teacher has avoided prison after claiming his family was dependent on him because his wife speaks ‘very little English’.
Suleman, 40, gave the 11-year-old girl and her two brothers private tuitions in Arabic.
He was reported to the police after the children’s mother overheard her sons talking about the incidents in the kitchen.
Maknojioa, a father of six, was due to teach 30 children at a mosque near his home in Blackburn, Lancashire.Preston Crown Court was told Suleman had been employed by the children’s parents in 2012 to teach them about Islamic faith three times a week.
The abuse apparently lasted for nine months.
Maknojioa will be under supervision for two years and made subject of a sexual offences prevention order for 10 years.
