8,000 TDP families to be sent back to SWA

The registration has begun for the return of Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs) to South Waziristan after the success of operation against militants.

According to South Waziristan political agent more than 8,000 families would be shifted back to their homes under the supervision of political administration and Pakistan Army. Before the operation which was launched in 2009, Mehsud tribes were asked to vacate the area so that there was no collateral damage.

The political agent said that each family returning home will be given cash of Rs 35,000 and six months ration along with free transport.
