Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Central Punjab President Manzoor Wattoo has claimed that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) released payments to parliamentarians prior to Senate elections ─ an act that could be evidence of horse-trading.

Addressing a press conference, Wattoo said that the elections showed that the PPP is the country’s largest political party. According to him, 10 PML-N representatives engaged in horse-trading to ensure that the PPP fails to perform well in the Senate election.

Wattoo said that both the chairman and deputy chairman of the Senate will be from the PPP because of the support from various political parties including the Awami National Party (ANP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q).
