A survey has been launched for working out a database of Afghan nationals residing in Rawalpindi.
The local notables and Mohalla committees have been tasked with keeping strict watch over the movement of Afghan nationals and their guests.
The database will be utilized at the time of implementation of Punjab government’s policy on repatriation of Afghan refugees.
Rawalpindi Police has initiated the process of evolving database of Afghan nationals living in Rawalpindi whereby the details of all the areas wherein Afghan nationals are settled is being collected.
The police has also chalked out internal security plan of Rawalpindi city afresh and eight checkposts have been established on the routes coming from KP and motorway. Patrolling has been stepped up and vigilance has been beefed up at interchanges on motorway.
