Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders reportedly held a meeting in Dubai to deliberate on joining Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)-led Sindh government.

Sources said the meeting allowed its lawmakers in Sindh Assembly to become coalition partner of PPP, “conditionally”. The two parties will hold dialogues over 60/40 formula next week after which MQM is likely to make final decision on joining Sindh government, sources added.

Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan and MQM leaders Babar Ghauri, Rauf Siddiqui and Faroogh Naseem besides two MQM leaders from London attended the meeting. They also remained in contact with party chief Altaf Hussain.

It was decided that the assurance given by PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari to Altaf Hussain be fulfilled.
