Ittehad-i-Tanzeemat-i-Madaris-i-Deenia (ITMD) on Sunday warned the government of initiating a protest campaign in the end of this month, if it did not stop the crackdown against seminaries.

While briefing media after a meeting at Mansoora on Sunday, ITMD Secretary General Mufti Muneebur Rahman said that a way is being paved for arousing conflict between the government and the religious forces in the country.

In order to avoid any confrontation, he invited all the concerned officials including the prime minister and the chief of the armed forces of Pakistan to hold talks on the issue.

Wafaqul Madaris Chief Qari Hanif Jalandhari said that the religious leadership will not at all allow anyone to take control of seminaries.

The religious leaders clarified that the government policy to hold talks parallel to a crackdown against madaris will not succeed in any case.

They demanded the government to stop defaming mosque and sect, for the sake of containing terrorism.
