Sindh govt refers 85 cases to special trial courts

The Sindh government has referred to special trial courts some 85 cases of terrorism for trial.

According to state media, two police stations in Karachi have been reserved to register cases of terrorism. Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Memon had said that the Sindh government had shortlisted major cases related to terrorism including incidents of Karachi airport, Mehran base and Karsaz attack which would be recommended to be tried in military courts.

Sharjeel Memon said that 15 out of 20 points of the National Action Plan (NAP) were related to the provincial governments. He was addressing a press conference in Karachi after completion of a high-level meeting held to review mechanism of the NAP.
