PCJCCI greets new Chinese year

Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) Wednesday greeted the business community and people of China on commencement of new Chinese year from February 18.

Addressing new Chinese year celebration ceremony, PCJCCI President Shah Faisal Afridi said the new year would bring closer together the two friendly nations. Prominent Chinese businessmen working in Pakistan and the PCJCCI members and Haier-Ruba SEZ were also present.

Afridi said the Chinese nation regarded “sheep” as an auspicious animal, and the Year of the Sheep, therefore, heralds a year of promise and prosperity, adding that 2015 was termed to be a year of sheep in China, which means a year of love, peace, kindness and trust. Pakistan, he said, was proud of being the best friend of a great country like China and assured to continue his efforts for maintaining the sincere and cordial relations with business community of China.

The chamber’s president expressed immense pleasure to get together with all Chinese friends to celebrate the New Chinese Year and said, the year 2014 witnessed a rapid development in China-Pakistan relations, which had brought great opportunities also for the other Asian countries. He was confident that through joint efforts, the bilateral relations in future would surely be a more glorious and successful chapter.

Afridi acknowledged that 2014 was the year of harvest and progress for bilateral relations. Both sides have enhanced the political foundation, deepened upon friendship between two nations and made outstanding progresses in the fields of economic, cultural, technologic and educational cooperation. In this regard, he made a special reference of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, saying that it was naturally interlinked and mutually supported with the Silk Route Economic Belt proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, which would benefit all countries and nation of the region, especially Pakistan.
