Unidentified men blew up two towers of high transmission line Sunday morning near Notal area of Nasirabad district, causing suspension of electricity supply to 20 districts of Balochistan including Quetta.

According to police, unidentified men had attached improvise explosive devices (IED) with two 220 KV electricity pylons of high transmission line coming from Guddo Barrage which went off.

As a result, Quetta and 20 districts of Balochistan were deprived of electric supply after damages to electricity pylons of high transmission line.

However, law enforcement agency along with bomb disposal squad personnel defused 30 kg of improvise explosive devices which were planted near three 220 KV electricity pylons by unidentified men.

The teams of National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) reached the site and started repairing of damaged electricity pylons.
