Pakistani youth must pledge to take revenge of Peshawar martyrs from terrorists, said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Central leader and National Assembly Member Hamza Shahbaz while addressing a prize distribution ceremony of players and teams displaying outstanding performance during Punjab Youth Festival 2014 at the Alhamra Cultural Complex on Saturday.
Minister for Sports and Education Mashhood Khan, office-bearers of World Boxing Council, Saeed Ajmal and young Pakistani teams of kabaddi, hockey and cricket attended the ceremony.
Hamza said that only those nations of the world progress which do not forget their past. He said that as a nation we should never forget those children and their parents who were targeted by terrorists in Peshawar. He said that we will have to convey a message through our act to the terrorists that Pakistani nation will defeat enemies of peace. He said that Punjab is playing a role of vanguard in the war against terrorism. He said that Turk-trained quick response force comprising 421 youth had been prepared and another contingent of 1,500 Jawans is also being included in this force during the current year.
He said that Pakistan is facing great challenges and threats and we will cope with every challenge through unity and strength of our young generation. He said that our youth are fully capable to meet any challenge. He said that the fate of Pakistan will be changed through gold, silver and iron reserves discovered in Chiniot. He said that 3,600 megawatt electricity will be generated through LNG within one and a half year while Solar Park located in Bahawalpur will also start generating 100-megawatt electricity within a few months.
World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman said that by seeing the talent and spirit of five young boxers of Pakistan he had decided to train them in Mexico and Spain. He also handed over Pakistan membership certificate of Pakistan of World Boxing Council to Hamza Shahbaz. Later, prizes and medals were distributed among players and teams showing outstanding performance during Punjab Youth Festival 2014. The ceremony concluded with national songs and a cultural show.
