The Punjab government has re-named Shara-e-Aiwan-e-Tijarat, Lahore. It is now to be called “Shara-e-Aiwan-e-Sanat-o-Tijarat” to honour the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
The effects will kick in upon fulfilment of all concerned formalities as outlined under Rule-9 of the Punjab local Councils (Road & Street) Rules, 1981, and in exercise of powers conferred under Rule ibid, the Government of the Punjab has allowed the road to be renamed.
LCCI President Ijaz Ahmed Mumtaz said that renaming Shara-e-aiwan-e-Tijarat to Shara-e-Aiwan-e-Sanat-o-Tijrat was a big achievement for the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the credit goes to LCCI former president Shahzada Alam Monnoo (late).
