SHIKARPUR-

Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Thursday arrived in Shikarpur, Sindh, to condole with the bereaved families of the victims of the suicide blast targeting a Shiite mosque on 30th January.

At least 60 worshippers were killed in the attack that targeted a Friday congregation at Imam Bargah Karbala Mual’la in Shikharpur’s area of Lakhidar.

Accompanied by Shah Mehmood Qureshi and other party leaders, Khan met with the Shiite clerics and the grieiving heirs of the victims.

Speaking to media, Khan announced full support for the long march, by Shikarpur Shuhda Committee, to Chief Minister House on Sunday in protest of terrorist attacks in Sindh.

The PTI chief also blasted the leadership of federally-ruling Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) and Sindh-ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for failing to ensure peace, calling for reforms in police force for elimination of terrorism and militancy.

He termed the politicization of police in Sindh and Punjab as the main reason behind dwindling law and order condition while applauding the police of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa where, he claimed, not a single official was recruited in the force on political grounds.

Khan’s party is part of the coalition government in KPK.

The PTI chief further added that he had never held rallies in support of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). He shared a photo of his visit on on Twitter handle:
