At least three workers were killed and as many as 24 others were injured seriously in an explosion due to gas leakage in the hall of a confectionery manufacturing factory located at Small Industrial Estate, Daska, on Thuesday.
As per reports, the workers were busy in manufacturing bakery items and confectioners in the main hall of the factory, when a big explosion occurred, which jolted the area.
Police said that the explosion occurred because of leakage of the LPG gas burner, which killed three workers on the spot, besides, seriously injuring as many as 34 workers.
Sialkot District Police Officer (DPO) Dr Shehzad Asif rushed to the spot and inquired details about this explosion.
Most of the workers received serious burn wounds on their bodies. The condition of three injured workers was stated to be very critical, who were shifted to Lahore Mayo Hospital from Daska Civil Hospital in critical condition. Daska police are investigating the incident.
