Darul Uloom Karorpucca chief Sheikhul Hadeeth Abdul Majeed Ludhianvi died of heart attack on Sunday.
Majeed suffered a heart attack during meeting of Wafaqul Madris and was rushed to hospital in unconscious condition but he could not survive.
He was highly respected in religious circles. Participants of Wafaqul Madris meeting have expressed their deep grief of the death of the religious scholar and the function was closed as soon as the news of his death reached them.
President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and other religious and political leaders have conveyed their condolence on his death.
