Mild intensity earthquake jolts parts of KP

A mild intensity earthquake jolted different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Sunday but no loss was reported due to quake.

According to the geological wing of the PMD, tremors measuring 4.6 on Richter scale were felt in Peshawar, Dir, Malakand, Dir, Swat, Chitral and in adjoining areas.

People rushed out of their homes in panic while reciting verses from Quran but no loss was reported from the areas where the earthquake was felt.

The Geological Department said that the epicentre of the quake was in area bordering Afghanistan-Tajikistan, 88 kilometre inside the earth’s crust.
