Petrol price reduced by 7.99/litre: PM Nawaz

Petrol price will be reduced by Rs7.99 per litre from February 1,  Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced on Saturday.

Addressing a press conference, the PM said that the price of kerosene would be slashed by Rs10.48, and for high octane the price would be reduced by Rs11.82.

A price reduction by Rs5.62 and Rs9.56 for high speed diesel and low speed diesel, respectively, has also been announced by the premier.

PM at Elite Police Training School passing-out parade

Also on Saturday, PM Nawaz attended a passing-out parade of the Elite Police Training School in Badian, Lahore.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Raheel Sharif and other high officials were also present at the event.

Speaking at the event, the PM said that the war on terror was a national cause.

He said that whole nation has decided in unison that the war against terrorism ‘has to be won’ for preserving our society and culture.

He applauded that armed forces and special services group for playing an important role in training of the anti-terrorism force.

The first batch of the counter-terrorism force comprised of 421 corporals, including 16 females.
