The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has sent a summary to the Petroleum Ministry recommending a reduction in petroleum prices.
According to the summary, OGRA has recommended Rs 10 per litre decrease in the price of petrol and Rs 8.50 per litre reduction in the price of diesel.
If the summary is approved, the price of petrol will fall to Rs 68.28 per litre from February 1. The price of diesel will fall to Rs 77.73 per litre while after Rs 12 decrease, the price of kerosene oil will decrease to Rs 59.92 per litre. High Octane will decrease by Rs 14 after which the new price will be Rs 78.13 per litre.
